Wisconsin doctors continue to prescribe fewer opioids. From 2015 to 2018, there was a 29 percent drop in prescription painkillers like oxycontin, according to a recent state report. But opioid deaths have been rising. In 2017, state health officials say there were 916 overdose deaths.
