The WPHRN links and supports public health practitioners and researchers in order to answer questions and disseminate discoveries applicable to improving practice and population health. The network promotes collaboration on research proposals and projects, and disseminates research results relevant to improving public health practice. WPHRN members include public health professionals, researchers, students, and others from health departments, academic, and professional organizations.
WPHRN was created in 2009 with the support of an infrastructure development grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The network is housed at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Nursing and funded by the University of Wisconsin Institute for Clinical & Translational Research-Community Academic Partnerships (ICTR-CAP), research grants, and donations.
