Racial and ethnic disparities and factors associated with unmet needs in families of children with special healthcare needs

One in five households in the United States has a child with a special healthcare need. These families face multiple challenges related to the management of their child’s condition, including: stress, fatigue, marital distress, employment, and family financial problems. This study examines racial and ethnic disparities and factors associated with unmet needs in families of a child with a special healthcare need in a large, nationally representative sample.
