Rebecca Hovarter, DNP, PHN,A, RNBC, CPH is a senior lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Nursing and Health Studies program. She holds an undergraduate degree in nursing from UW-Green Bay, and a Master of Science in Nursing, Public Health Nursing track and Doctor of Nursing Practice, Public Health Nursing track from the University of Minnesota -Twin Cities. Dr. Hovarter also received a Certificate in Public Health Core Competencies from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. In addition, she is certified as an Advanced Public Health Nurse through the American Nurse Credentialing Center and Certified in Public Health by the National Board of Public Health Examiners. She has been a nurse for 42 years, working in community and public health for most of that time. Dr. Hovarter has worked full-time at UW-Green Bay since 2013, where she teaches courses to undergraduate and graduate students, including community health nursing theory, community health nursing practicum, and evidence-based practice. She has served with numerous local, regional, state, and national committees and associations, including the Wisconsin Public Health Association.
